Today is day seven. When I look back at all of the things I have done this week, it feels like I have done a lot. Well I have done a lot, but it sure takes a lot out of me, and makes me even more excited knowing how much I have left to do.
I woke up to a wonderfully rainy Copenhagen morning. So the day was spent reading and napping and lounging. It was just what I needed after a busy week, and gave me plenty of time to work on all of the reading for my class. The World of Viking course has nine books assigned to it. The World of Viking course is only four weeks. Now don’t panic, we don’t have to read all nine cover to cover, but there is still plenty of reading for each day. It was nice to have a rainy day excuse to just sit around reading and watching tv.
Oh, for those of you concerned about the case of the mysterious cell phone, all has been resolved. Yesterday, after walking back to the parking structure, which is actually the cell phone place, and waiting 10 minutes for the guy to show up, all was resolved. I think I actually frightened the guy a bit. I had read the website many times to be familiar with the plan, and he was telling me different information. I chose that provider because it was a practically free cell phone. He wanted some real money for it in addition to the safety deposit (which is paid back in full once the phone is returned). Being the savvy, persuasive, and persistent person that I am, I got the phone free of charge. It is currently living in the bottom of my purse, off. I’m not planning on using it, it’s only for emergencies, but I have it and it was free. I would say it was a successful, long, but successful effort.
After dinner tonight, my housemates and I made our way out to the harbor to watch the Germany-Argentina game. Europeans really do get into their soccer, sorry football. The game was incredibly boring. But hooray for Germany for winning. Now I get to wait four more years to pretend to care about soccer again haha. It was a fun night though no matter what the sport was or who was playing.
Onto week two of my month abroad! I can’t wait to see what comes next!
