I know what you were all thinking about today, my Viking exam. Don’t worry folks, I rocked it! My afternoon/morning of studying paid off. I was more than prepared. I knew all of my dates and all of my mythology and all of my history. Piece of cake.
That was a success.
I am currently in the middle of reading Egil’s Saga. It is about Icelandic Vikings, and the people of Iceland take their sagas very seriously. I got through half of it today.
That was a success.
My house and I decided to go out on a canal tour this evening and play tourist. We had the whole thing planned out. We were going to grab dinner at a great Mexican place and have a great evening boat ride.
That was not as successful.
The place couldn’t accommodate our large group, so we all split up. A few of us went out to Dalle Valle, a cute little bistro. All of their entrees were half priced if you ordered a drink as well. I had the most delicious open faced smoked salmon sandwich and a glass of Chardonnay! That was my first drink in Copenhagen. (I have been on an antibiotic regiment since I got here and didn’t want to make it less successful by mixing it with alcohol and then have to find a doctor here).
Dinner was a success (and delicious).
Since our timeline had been pushed back, we unfortunately missed the last boat tour of the night, so we will go back to Nyhavn another time. The canal isn’t going anywhere any time soon.
That was not as successful.
I ended my evening hanging out in a park around the corner from our place. Entering the second week, I am really happy with the friends and connections that I have made. These people continue to make me laugh and smile every day. I can’t wait for the other adventures I will be having with them. We have known each other for less than 10 days, and I can tell these relations will last a lifetime.
So like I said, it was a mostly successful day. Just get ready for tomorrow, I’m excited!!
