If you haven’t seen an Icelandic sweater, look up a picture. They are beautiful and warm, a little scratchy, but totally worth it!
This morning we went on a boating adventure to the puffin islands for a morning of birding. They are very interesting birds, and they are very bad at flying. They are too large for their small wings, so they have to flap them very quickly. They get an A for effort, and we still cute to watch. I just wish I had had my Icelandic sweater with me. The boat ride was a tad bit windy.
After boating we headed down the harbor and had lunch at an organic fish and chips place. The food was great, but I think I like mine with a bit of grease to it. The fish was fantastic, I highly recommend it.
After lunch we had the first half of our presentations for class. I thought being in the classroom in Denmark was hard, but being in the classroom in Iceland is even harder. I wanted to be out and about exploring, and we got there eventually.
After the presentations I went on the hunt for my Icelandic sweater. I just wanted to walk in somewhere and fall in love with a hand made bundle of Icelandic wool joy, and that’s what I got. It was worth the time and effort! I can’t wait to show everyone a picture.
The night rounded out with an evening on the town. We sampled some really good Icelandic beer, and we sampled some really bad Icelandic beer. One of the stouts we tried tasted like bacon. I was not a fan, but we all had a great time! I think that will be our only night out on this leg of the trip, and that is fine by me, alcohol is ridiculously expensive in Iceland, but the memories are definitely worth it.
