It’s Thursday, and all I can think about is how lucky I am. I have been blessed to always have a happy, love and laughter filled home. Both Mt. Prospect and Milwaukee are home to me, and now Copenhagen is too. Home is where your heart is, and Denmark has stolen mine. Everything from the beauty of the city to the people I have met, have turned this city into my home.
Today was my last day in the classroom. My paper is turned in, the grades are being figured out, and I have learned a lot about the Vikings. The class alone was worth the trip, everything else was just a nice perk.
Today I was able to successfully finish my Copenhagen To Do List. Kelsey and I headed out to Christianshavn to climb The Spiral Church Tower. It is officially known as Our Savior’s Church. The stairs were steep, all 388 of them, but the view was incredible!! I was scared out of my skin once we got up to the top, literally clutching the rail with every step. But that view!!!! I wish I had been able to take more pictures, but I only have two hands. One was firmly gripping the railing at all times, and I wanted two hands on my camera out of fear of it blowing away. Walking up the stairs was much easier than walking down, that’s for sure. They were much steeper on the way down. But I made it, and that concludes the Copenhagen To Do List!
Later in the afternoon our building RA put together a final social at the King;s Park. She brought a traditional Danish lawn game called The Kings Game or The Viking Game. It was very fun, and my team won! I hope that I can find a set at home, because I want to keep playing!
The rest of my night was filled with delicious pizza,a weird Netflix movie, and hanging out with some great new friends. It will be so strange not having them down the hall in a few days. Copenhagen will always be my home, it has given me more than I could have expected. There’s one full day left, and it’s going to be spent in style!
